Recently heard rumor, can anyone substantiate?

so a friend of mine said that one of their family members told them the following:.

... was telling me last monday that entire congos were being dissovled due to individualized thinking.. .

now, i haven't heard anything specific, and if there were widespread rumors i'm fairly confident we would hear them here.

@ Jake, never seen an entire body avoid the meetings during a CO visit, only two or three of them. Your elders were courageous to make their stand, we needed more brother like them. Thanks for that story, puts faith in me, that a group can force change, but it takes time and good elders!

@Blindnomore, I know a brother who has done the very same thing, he has the education of a six grader. He is loved by the Society because he never says "No" to them. Mongrol with his Jezebel wife are poison to weak ones, the duet control an entire body of elders, whether they admit it, or not. They obey this man's very will, he is allowed to do his own thing, while low testastorne elders cringe in fear, with their piss puppy characteristics, the smart ones who have some dignity, move to another Hall after suffering from shell shock.

He pushed, or forced the donation issue, every meeting for months, he wanted to "hawk" the congregation clean state into debt! "We must pay for those who did not save money for their retirement, or work a job with healthcare of pension benefits, we owe them a living!" He harrassed the congregation relentlessly, anyone with questions about this great undertaking, were lambasted (nice way of saying, ripped into an asshole, how loving?) back into their seat. All their good physical works must offset all their wicked acts, hammering people who talk about the congregation pedophile, yelling at brothers who disagree with his lopsided business prowess. Brother Mongrol surrounds himself with his henchmen, the former disfellowshiped and neutered wannabee elders, who will never be elders, because of not "abhoring what is wicked!"

@Blindnomore: The Society appears to wink at bad man, as long as they are performing their "Call of Duty" to the Slave. I have seen too many cases of blatant evil conduct, as you talk about go unresolved or lose good sheep. The so called " trouble shooters" are soon assimilated into these dirty dens of snakes, or might quit the Org, depending how much time they have left to retire!

How could the Society lose so many of their brilliant members like Ray Frantz, DogPatch, Marvin Shilmmer, Blondie, Billytheex, Terry, James B from Texas, Ed Dunlap, Lady Lee, New Chapter, Ray Publisher? I have pondered if they (Watchtower) had promoted a love and kindess with a wonderful community, and did implement it into their Kingdom Halls throughout the Western Hempshipere, would JWN have the large numbers of members?

"Malicious Slandering, witch hunt, horrendous gossiping, brown nosing, drinking party, evil scheming, lying and manuplating, morbid dread, etc are only existing truth among them. The evidences are every where and can be seen so clear by every R&F but COs."

They take action only when money is not being pumped into their World Wide Work. What a sad group with no insight into congregational affairs and disputes. They don't try to help, if you write the Org, they send your letters to the men who are making your life a living Hell!

How Does The Message Attract New Converts In Field Service?

what attracts new ones into the jw fold these days, the message, the friends, someone to listen to their problems, a personal relationship with god?

The message we have to preach now at the door, is not the same we preached forty years ago. Dual income families are gone through the week, JWs usually call during the weekdays, leave tracts in gated communities. How can a JW look a householder straight in the face and say "Hello, have you noticed how close the end is?" or "Turn to the new magazine, How would you like a happy family like the new Awake shows?" (He fails to mention no JW family gathering with another family brings song books and sings the whole time. He also fails to mention most JW families are not peaceful and loving or we probably would not be on JWN right now!)

@long haired gal: The nice sister at the door talking to lonely ones, wait till they get to know this sister. Once the magazines are placed, the householder will be lucky to see a return visit take place. When a foreign speaking person want's to practice English I would turn them over to their langauge group, only to see them fade often.

The CO who left our area, complained how we were overlooking the new "stay at home men", he wanted to push to talk to more men out in service, that's easy for him to say. Send our poor sisters to speak with some creepy men, most of the publishers during the week were woman, so he wanted these women to check up on these stay out home men. CO J.R. had one experience of some male taking the magazines, so he opined "all stay at home men must be waiting for the magazines." Glad he moved to Fresno,California You can keep J.R. American Idol Allay!

now i hear the big career is meter reading in the pacific northwest.

How Do JWs View Gluttony?

this thread is dedicated to the judgemental fat and not so jolly elders and elderettes (non judgemental loving brethren, please disregard!)..

in my county, some of our appointed brothers and sisters are suffering from obesity, eating disorders and heavy drinkings.

what is the best way to approach brothers in charge, who are morbidly overweight, don't care about their physical appearance?

The consensus on JWN agrees the Watchtower Society is not addressing the needs of their members physical health. Gluttony is not preached about in the Watchtower or Awake, allowing their sheep to graze to death on unhealty food. Five Hundred Pound Elders are not removed for morbid obesity, but a brother who smokes is disfellowshiped from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Not only is this two faced, it's hypocrisy at it's height!

@whasup Those disgusting Buffets with their sodium loaded frozen dinners, how gross is that!

@cedars did you read that updated "Elder's letter for March 2012 on Porneia? "They strain the knat, but gulp down the camel!" Their guilt trip is not working on young kids, they don't care what the Organization says about Masterbation. I heard two boys telling an elder "hey at least we are not going out and getting girls pregnant" he agreed with them, what will the Organization do, as more kids show an independant spirit from the Pharisees attention to minute details?

@LouBelle "I grew up listening to that BS about "Bodily training", one MacNugget at a time, I was told not to exercise, it "was not good, St. Paul said not to work out!" It made me mad as Hell, this trash was spouted by overweight elders and I was only a teenager! I told one brother who liked to talk dirty, "hey brother D, did you know if you lost sixty pounds your penis would grow by two inches?" He went on a diet with those nasty weight loss drugs, hoping to enlarge his penis, not to make his body a clean temple, but to impress his sex hating wife.

@jojo I heard this talk too, what balls your overseer had! I love his style, not mean but honest! Weight problems are becoming epidemic, yet the Watchtower is failing to keep it's sheep Awake! They are not teaching healthy lifestyle choices, how to avoid over-eating, are they trying to kill thier older members prematurely? Will the French Diet help these knuckleheads? Fat brothers would drink red wine and tell me it was their degreaser!

"One outspoken and funny ( and sometimes unpopular ) brother gave a talk concerning the " Obesity " Awake magazine. He said from stage that

" People like to say that it is in their genes, they can't help it.. Well, have you ever seen a fat person in a concentration camp!? Wait till you get thrown in prison during a time of persecution and then tell me it's in your genes.." WOW!"

i was driving home the other evening pondering the past couple of turbulant years for me and my family.

i reflected back on my appointment as a ministerial servant and my attitude, beliefs and thinking at the time.

i thought about the subsequent misery that being a servant brings once the the glow wears off and people stop "commending you on your fine spiritual progress.

I know a brother who had to work until he was 85 years old, he spent is life in Bethel for several decades, was sent on the road, married and started a business in his sixties. He worked until he was 85 years old, lived off $800 usd a month in a dump. He was the best speaker I ever met in my life, he is now 102 years old, and still smart for his age, not giving all the talks he use to. He's a good man, I like him!

WTS SAYS ELDERS SINS DON'T COUNT!

sometime ago i posted a discussion on h20 about the nov. 1991 kingdom ministry school for elders / ms held at woodburn, oregon.

during that school session the co stated that elders who commit a serious sin, even a gross sin, did not have to be removed if the event took place two or three years prior, and the elder continued to be respected, giving evidence of jehovahs blessing.

the co stipulated that this only applied to elders and ms and not to regular publishers.
